Do I gotta?

Have you ever had a small task looming over you that you just couldn't get motivated to complete? I am in that boat today. A week ago, hubs asked me to get a copy of my last pay stub to turn in with the paperwork for our new home. My last pay stub...hmmm...let's see...my twins are 5 months old, I was on bed rest for 9 weeks before that...so, the last time I worked was about 12 years ago.

I have put this task off for a whole week and today's the day I've got to do it. I mean, I'm dreading this more than I dread swimsuit shopping, for crying out loud. Why, you ask, don't I just call the place and ask them to send, fax or e-mail me a copy? No can do. Apparently, they hired some Fort Knox employees to set up the security on the computer systems. Therefore, the only persons who can access my pay stubs would be me, myself and I!

Why have I put off the task?

Well, let me just list my excuses...uh, I mean my reasons:
  1. I'll actually have to "get dressed" to go into that place...in more than just wind shorts and flip flops. This also includes blow-drying instead of air-drying AND putting at least a little make up on. Failure to "dress" WILL result in me NOT being recognized when I walk in there and start working on a Fort Knox computer, putting myself at risk of being detained in a military slammer somewhere.
  2. It will undoubtedly take me 20 minutes to load and 20 minutes to unload my "circus", tents and all, just to spend 2 minutes printing some lousy piece of paper that is just going to sit in some lame file somewhere for the next 30 years.
  3. What if I hit a car in the parking lot? I'm good at that, you know.
  4. Do I gotta?
  5. I don't wanna!

Ugh. Enough whining, I know. I'm off to load up the circus.

Hey if you see Fort Knox looking for me, you know NOTHING!

They want a 12-year-old paycheck stub! Sheesh.
Well, good luck! (But I still think swimsuit shopping has to be even worse...at least when you look like me.)

You think you're funny, don't you? I do not think they will be reading the ole blog. And, yes, maybe I am trying to get rid you you all! NOT

I can so understand...I am the queen of procrastination when it comes to certain tasks looming over me.
And I just hopped over to your swimsuit post...lately, I shriek in the dressing room just trying on capri pant, much less swimming suits.

(And I loved your "trash bags aswaying in the breeze"! LOL)

LOL! Don't you hate dumb tasks like these?!! Like who will ever care about that stinkin' pay stub! It slays me that you have to have things like this just to buy a house! Sheesh!

LOL You sound like my husband putting off doing immigration paperwork. But... I think immigration papers are possibly more daunting.

Don't feed the babies before hand and you'll have the whole place helping you so that they can get your little screamers scooted out stat!

Just so you know, Debi, Corrie has a flair for sarcasm! ;^P It was more like... what? 10 months ago? :^D Unless of course Corrie is being audited by the IRS for all of her earnings that last year of high school in which case she ought to know that she has no need to fear military tribunals and prisons, just posh Martha Stewart type detention centers! Hee hee!

Yuck and double yuck. Why does something so simple always require such monumental tasks to get it? Good luck!

I am right there with you. I put off going through the mail. I hate sorting through it all. If I would just do it daily it wouldn't be so bad.

I am a big procastinator too!

Unless we are going to the beach. I can be on that and organized in a matter of minutes. LOL.

I hope you were in and out with out to much drama from the kiddos.
