I love this girl.

Some of our more recent conversations have made my heart smile:

After church the other day, I said, "Honey, go wash your hands really well. You can pick up a lot of germs at church."
Surprised, she said, "Well, I thought God's house would be clean!"

When her hamster died last week, she was very broken up. But in between sobs, she was able to stop and ask, "Will you send me a sympathy card?"

Well, I guess so, since you asked and all...

How to blog without a brain...

Well, I really don't even have anything to write about...it has been ages and ages since I personally blogged, though I read several on a daily basis.
The problem is:
a. I took a new job that allows me to deliver and pick up my precious kindergartner to and from school every day, but it zaps my brain cells...
b. I didn't have many brain cells that were still functioning in the first place.
c. How could my brain cells be functional, when I rarely feel functional?
...and the list goes on from there. Ha ha.
I can't believe the big girl is in school now. It seems like time has flown since she was in my arms...or better yet, my tummy!
I do hope I can blog more again soon. I miss my bloggy friends and enjoy posting ramblings and such.
Until next time...

Pool feet...

Is there anything cuter than wrinkled up pool feet???

Well, except the boy who they belong to....

...of course!

Everything really IS bigger in Texas...

...including the sky.

And is there a better way to celebrate that fact
than to fly a kite in your own front yard?
I think not!

And honestly, if I'm ever going to fly a kite, which I personally have absolutely NO time for...but I'm just saying IF I ever go fly a kite, I hope I look as adorable as this little gal!

Hungry, anyone?

Nan wrote this post yesterday about arm loaves that had me cracking up...if you are lamenting the fact that summer is a comin' and you're still carrying around the holidays on your skeleton, you should read it and be encouraged.

I actually remember a time when my grandmother commented that I was gaining a little weight in my arms and we were all thrilled about this! Truly, we were! I had been such an emaciated skinny young gal for so long with some powerhouse for a metabolism that we were all a bit thrilled that I was filling out.

But now...well it's a different story. See, somewhere along the way, the powerhouse laid off about 2/3 of the workers and then some of the other workers went on strike. This has left my metabolism at a snail's pace at best. I've tried coaxing the workers to come back to the powerhouse, offering them better benefits, 401k plans and health insurance. Guess they aren't interested...

Well, happy reading. Guess I better go find some celery sticks or a treadmill or something!

10 things I have done since the last time I blogged...

Recovered from this like totally rockin' 1980's skating party...like it was totally rad...totally!

Tried to get a decent picture of the 3 children together. Key word: TRIED.

Saw two sweeties celebrate their 1st Christmas!

Nursed (not in the literal feeding way...just fyi...) two babies through RSV.

Saw this little guy fall asleep sitting up...too sweet for words!

Again, tried (that's the key word, remember?) to get a picture of the children...together...smiling.

Re-decorated the guest bathroom.

Developed a personal relationship with Tamiflu.

Celebrated New Year!

And just for grins, tried one more time for a picture of the three of them...and I ask: is there a point to the madness???

Are we there yet???

Whew! December is FLYING and we've just wrapped up one of the busiest weeks of our family life to date. Fun, but busy! I'm feeling a bit like these folks...

Yawn!
